And all other trades associated with
building and development projects

The World of Design and Construction as we know it is changing. With the introduction of green and sustainable design and construction, the days of retaining an architect to develop a set of plans to bid out to general contractors are rapidly disappearing.

The U.S. Green Building Council's LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System is the benchmark for green design and construction in the nation, and practically every other green building program in existence bases their criteria from the LEED programs. The USGBC LEED programs include LEED NC (New Construction), Renovation, Homes, Interior Design, Hotels, and the list goes on. To date, sixteen cities have mandated all tax-dollar construction to be LEED Certified, and the movement is rapidly expanding. With tax incentives and matching fund programs, including reduced real estate tax categories, new green financing programs and insurance brackets, not to mention greatly reduced operating costs for principals and health benefits for occupants, it's only a matter of time before green building of every description will become the new national standard.

The Green Beginnings Book and Video Educational Package explains green building by using the model of planning and building a LEED Silver and Energy Star Qualified Home and was created to help professionals and homeowners alike to understand the process and green homes. The book (2 hour read time), written by the homeowners, provides detailed perspective on subjects ranging from site stewardship and waste management to acquiring LEED certification. The 25 minute video features the green builder, architect, sustainable engineer, landscape architect and homeowners revisit the project and explain how various green products and systems come together in an engaging film that captures the integrative spirit of the new approach to construction management as required by the USGBC.

This Green Building Educational Package is the perfect introduction and orientation program for your company to get acquainted with green homes and construction and will prepare your company to remain competitive and relevant in the rapidly evolving world of green design and construction.
